कोई एक घटना मनुष्य के सम्पूर्ण जीवन को बदल देती है और उस वजह से ऐसे कार्य हो जाता है कि समाज, देश एवं विश्व के लिए एक मिशाल बन जाती है। एक मनुष्य का जुनून कई लोगों के जीवन को सरल, सहज एवं सुखद बना देता है एवं पीढ़ियाँ सुधर जाती हैं।
One incident changes the whole life of a human because of work is done by him or herself, becomes an example for the society, country, and the world. Person’s passion makes life simple, easy, and enjoyable for many people and generations get changed.
कल दिनाँक 12 फरवरी 2022 को मैं अपनी पत्नी प्रतिभा बौद्ध, बड़े भाई श्री बृजेश जी, भाभी डॉ.प्रिया जी, भतीजी तनु एवं ड्राईवर ध्रुव जी के साथ बोधगया से प्रातः राजगिर एवं नालंदा के लिए निकले। बोधगया से करीब 45 किलोमीटर दूरी स्थित कच्चे, खपरैल और कुछ पक्की इंटों से बने गाँव गेहलौर में पहुँचे। यह गाँव आज से कोई 20 वर्ष पहले तक बहुत ही पिछड़ा एवं गरीब रहा होगा। आज इस गाँव में एक पुरुष की मेहनत की बजह से सबकुछ है जिसकी एक आम व्यक्ति को जरूरत होती है जैसे सड़क,पानी विजली, अस्पताल, थाना आदि।
Yesterday on 12th February 2022, I left Bodh Gaya with my wife Pratibha Bauudh, elder brother Shri Brijesh Kumar Ji, sister-in-law Dr. Priya Ji, niece Tanu and driver Dhruv Ji for Rajgir and Nalanda in the morning. Arrived at Gehlaur, village houses were made of grass, muds, and bricks, located about 45 km from Bodh Gaya to Nalanda road. This village must have been very backward and poor till some 20 years ago. Today, because of the hard work of a man, this village has everything that a common man needs like roads, water electricity, hospitals, police stations for security, etc.
मैं पर्वत पुरुष, द माउंटेन मैन आदि तमाम नामों से प्रसिद्ध हुए दिवंगत श्री दशरथ मांझी जी के बारे में संक्षेप में लिख रहा हूँ। हालाँकि उनके बारे में मैं क्या ही लिख सकता हूँ। वह तो इतिहास पुरुष हैं। उनके जीवन पर अनेक लेख लिखा जा चुकें हैं, कई फ़िल्में बन चुकी हैं।
I am writing briefly about the late Shri Dashrath Manjhi Ji who became famous by many names like Parvat Purush, The Mountain Man, etc. However, He is a man of history so I can not write much about him. Many articles have been written on his life, many films have been made.
फोटो में एक दुबले पतले दिखने वाले इरादों के मजबूत दिवंगत श्री दशरथ मांझी जी हैं।इनका जन्म 14 जनवरी 1929 को गेहलौर,जिला गया,बिहार के अति पिछड़े गाँव में हुआ था। भारतीय जाति व्यवस्था के अनुसार समाज में सबसे बहिष्कृत मुसहर समाज(चूहों को खाने वाली जाति) से सम्बंधित थे। वह एक मजदूर थे और अपना जीवन यापन मजदूरी करके करते थे। सन 1959 में इनकी पत्नी श्रीमती फाल्गुनी देवी अथवा फगुनियाँ जब पहाड़ पर चड़कर अपने पति श्री दशरथ मांझी जी को खाना-पानी देने जा रही थी तभी उनका पैर फिसल गया और पहाड़ से नीचे गिर गयीं। इलाज के लिए सबसे नजदीकी अस्पताल 55 किलोमीटर दूर वजीरगंज था मगर वह वहाँ न पहुँच सकी और मृत्यु को प्राप्त हुयीं।इस घटना से आहत होकर श्री मांझी ने संकल्प लिया कि अपने गाँव एवं समाज की मदद के लिए इस पहाड़ को काटकर रास्ता बनाऊँगा जिससे कि भविष्य में इस तरह की परेशानी किसी परिवार में आये तो इलाज के लिए अस्पताल जाया जा सके।
In the photos, a lean skinny looking man is late Shri Dashrath Manjhi Ji with strong intentions. He was born on 14 January 1929 in the most backward village Gehlaur, District Gaya, Bihar. According to the Indian caste system, he belonged to the most outcast society called Musahar society( the society which eats mouses). He was a laborer and made his living by working as a laborer. In 1959, when his wife Mrs. Falguni Devi or Faguniya was going to give food and water to her husband Mr. Dashrath Manjhi after climbing the mountain, her foot slipped and fell down from the mountain. The nearest hospital for treatment was 55 km away at Wazirganj, but she could not reach there and die. Her husband was hurt a lot by this incident, Mr. Manjhi resolved that to help his village and society, I would make a path by cutting this mountain so that In the future, if such problems arise in any family, then they can go to the hospital for treatment.
उन्होंने 110 मीटर(360 फीट) लम्बे,9.1 मीटर(30 फीट) चौड़े और 7.7 मीटर(25 फीट) ऊँचे इस पहाड़ को सिर्फ छैनी और हथौड़ी की मदद से काटकर बना दिया और उत्तरी ओर वजीरगंज ब्लॉक के बीच की 55किलोमीटर की दूरी को मात्र 15 किलोमीटर में सीमित कर दिया। उन्हें इस कार्य को पूरा करने में करीब 22 वर्ष(1960-1982) का वक्त लगा। उन्होंने अपने गाँव और समाज के मुद्दों को सरकार की नजर में लाने के लिए दिल्ली तक की यात्रा की। इस पर्वत पुरुष की मृत्यु कैंसर की वजह से एम्स में 17 अगस्त 2007 को हुई।इनका अंतिम संस्कार पूरे राजकीय सम्मान से किया गया।सन 2016 में बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री श्री नीतीश कुमार ने उन्हें पुरुष्कृत किया और इनके नाम से एक डाक टिकट जारी किया तथा साथ ही साथ बिहार सरकार ने उनके नाम पर अस्पताल और पुलिस स्टेशन का निर्माण कराया। सन 2006 में बिहार सरकार ने इन्हें पद्मश्री के लिए नामित किया।
He cut this mountain 110 m (360 ft) long, 9.1 m (30 ft) wide, and 7.7 m (25 ft) high with only the help of a chisel and hammer, and the distance between the Wazirganj block on the northern side was only 55 km. confined to 15 km. It took him about 22 years (1960-1982) to complete this task. He traveled to Delhi to bring the issues of his village and society to the notice of the government. This mountain man died due to cancer in AIIMS on 17 August 2007. His last rites were performed with full state honors. In 2016, Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar honored him and issued a postage stamp in his name. Simultaneously, the Bihar government built a hospital and police station in his name. In the year 2006, the Bihar government nominated him for the Padma Shri.
जब हम सब उस सड़क पर पहुँचे जिसे श्री मांझी ने अपने २२ वर्ष के अथक परिश्रम से बनाया तो महसूस हुआ कि श्री मांझी का अपनी पत्नी, बच्चे एवं समाज के प्रति कितना प्यार रहा होगा जिसने अपनी जिंदगी को इस कार्य में समर्पित कर दिया। इस चित्र के माध्यम से समझा जा सकता है कि इस ऊँचें पहाड़ को काटने के लिए उनको कितना कष्ट सहना पड़ा होगा। अति पिछड़े और गरीब गाँव के इस व्यक्ति के शरीर में इस महान कार्य को करने के लिए शक्ति कहाँ से आयी होगी? कहाँ से पौष्टिक भोजन मिला होगा? कहाँ से पीने के लिए साफ पानी मिला होगा? ऐसे तमाम प्रश्नों का मन में उठाना लाज़मी है। जब इस सड़क पर चलकर गेहलौर घाटी की तरफ देखा जिसे ये सड़क जोड़ती है तब समझ आता है कि इस कार्य को करने की ऊर्जा अपनों एवं समाज को हित में रखे गए सर्वोपर विचार एवं भावना से मिली होगी। वास्तव में इस जगह पर पहुँचकर सच्चे प्रेम एवं करुणा,मेहनत एवं लगन का एहसास हुआ।
When we all reached the road which Shri Manjhi built through his tireless work of 22 years, we realized how much love Shri Manjhi must have been towards his wife, children, and society, who devoted his whole life to this work. Through this picture, it can be understood how much pain he must have had to suffer to cut this high mountain. From where does the power to do this great work comes from in the body of this person who belongs to a very backward and poor village? From where he might get nutritious food? From where does he get clean water for drinking? It is necessary to raise all such questions in the mind. When walking on this road and looked towards the Gehlaur valley, to which this road connects, then it is understood that the energy to do this work must have been received from the paramount thoughts and feelings kept in the interest of the loved ones and the society. Truly a feeling of true love and compassion, hard work and dedication upon reaching this place.
मैं श्री मांझी द्वारा पहाड़ काटकर निर्मित इस सड़क को शाहजहाँ द्वारा निर्मित कराये गए ताजमहल से कहीं अधिक महत्वपूर्ण मानता हूँ। मैं शाहजहाँ एवं उनके कार्य की निंदा करता हूँ ऐसा किंचित नहीं है। श्री मांझी कोई राजा तो थे नहीं कि एक ही आदेश पर सारे कार्य संपन्न हो गए होंगे। ऐसा भी नहीं था कि वह बहुत अमीर व्यक्ति थे कि मजदूरों को लगाकर पहाड़ कटवा दिया हो। वह तो खुद के मजदूर थे। इस बजह से मैं उनके कार्य की सराहना करता हूँ क्योंकि उन्होंने इस कार्य जो खुद किया है न कि किसी से कराया।
I consider this made by cutting the mountain by Shri Manjhi to be more important than the Taj Mahal built by Shah Jahan. I am not criticizing the work of Shahjahan at all. Shri Manjhi was not a king that all the work would have been completed on one order. It was not even that he was a very rich person that by employing laborers, the mountain could be cut. He was labor himself. Because of his hardship, I appreciate his work because he has done this work himself and not got it done by anyone.
सरकार चाहे कितने भी सम्मान दे दे, उनके नाम से भवन आदि बना दे मगर वो सब उनके इस कार्य के आगे फीके ही सावित होंगे। हम सबको उनके कार्य से प्रेरणा लेनी चाहिए और अपने आप को मेहनत एवं त्याग के लिए सदैव तैयार रहना चाहिए कि हम भी अमुख कार्य जो कर सकते हैं।
No matter how much respect the government gives, a building etc. built in his name, but all of them will be faded in comparision of his work. We all should take inspiration from his work and should always be ready for hard work and sacrifice that we too can do the work like him.
ऐसे महान पुरुष को सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि एवं परिवार को तहेदिल से आभार जिसकी वजह से अनगिनत लोगों का हित हुआ।
